God Always Comes Through!

My life is about to take a turn into yet another transition when I join Youth With A Mission full time alongside my fabulous husband. It got me thinking about trusting God for daily needs such as faith in finances. Much of my life has been lived by trusting God daily like the Israelites did in the wilderness and I have ALWAYS seen God come through for me. Still, even with all those past experiences under my belt, it can be a challenge to trust in the area of finances especially.

For the last 8 months I have been working a ‘normal’ job and that time is about to come to an end. It has really got me thinking and talking to God about it all…
At the end of the month I will be teaching Kings in Tijuana, Mexico CSBS so I’ve been reading the book (or at least trying to but constantly falling asleep 🙂 Today I final finished and found myself so encouraged through a story so familiar to me! I wanted to share it with you here…

This story comes to us from 2 Kings 4:1-7
“Now the wife of a member of the company of prophets cried to Elisha, “Your servants my husband is dead; and you know that your servant feared the Lord, but a creditor had come to take my two children as slaves.” Elisha said to her, “What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?” She answered, “Your servan has nothing the the house, except a jar of oil.” He said, “God outside, borrow vessels from all your neighbors, empty vessels and not just a few. Then go in, and shut the door behind you and your children, and start pouring into all these vessels; when each is full set it aside.” So she left him and shut the door behind her and her children; they kept bringing vessels to her, and she kept pouring. When the vessels were full, she said to her son, “Bring me another vessel.” But he said to her, “There are no more.” Then the oil stopped flowing.  She came and told the man of God, and he said, “Go sell the oil and pay your debts, and you and your children can live on the rest.”

I pray this story may speak to you in the place you may be. Many people have needs now a days that seem too much to bear at times. Trusting God is always a good idea.  I spoke to a friend yesterday who was trusting God for a place to live within her budget.  She said she was sitting at work day dreaming and wrote down her dream living situation at an unrealistic price; or so she thought.  Days later someone approached her with an offer exactly what she had wrote that day.  God can do it, will we ask?
